On a subzero winter day when any sane person would have stayed inside, I found myself braving numb fingers and toes along the icy shore of Lake George in New York's Adirondack Mountains. My reward was capturing this abstract composition of icicles hanging down from the underside of a boat dock, where they glowed with the low-angled winter sunlight. The red and blue in the background is the result of a red and blue boathouse that was near this collection of icicles reflecting on the surface of the lake. Photo © copyright by Joey Priola.
